Banning this app in India this year has also been in the spotlight. In April this year, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court banned the app because of its offensive content. Not only that, the Supreme Court also directed Google and Apple to remove it from the App Store. However, the Madras High Court on this app removed the ban in April. This app is currently working in India.

Despite the ban placed on this app in India, its userbase has not decreased. In the first quarter of the year, its userbase in India reached 88.6 million, or about 9 million. Recently ByteDance has announced the launch of TikTok Phone soon. However, this phone will only be launched in China. Because of this, TikTok also made headlines in the past.
